If you have additional questions about Behind the Wheel, please contact your high school's main office. Students should arrive at their driving sessions five minutes early. Please keep this document in a secure place once it is received. Although not a hard rule, FPS uses an half mile walkout area as a general standard to determine eligibility of bussing. Students will be issued a certificate upon completion of the program this certificate is very important as it is required by the DMV when taking the driving test. Further, FPS provides transportation for extra-curricular activities, field trips, and shuttle service. However, students are required by North Dakota law to have a permit when driving with anyone else. Absences that need to be made up will cost the student an additional $25.00 per hour.Ī permit is not required for the Behind the Wheel driving portion, but they are strongly recommended. Currently approved schools in North Dakota: Valley Driver Education LLC, Fargo, ND 58104, 70 Varsity Driving Academy, West Fargo, ND 58078, 701. We are unable to change session times once they are scheduled, so please look over your summer schedules to avoid conflicts and insure a high level of commitment. Checks should be written out the student's attending high school. The fee is due at the time of sign up and is non-refundable. Students who are 14 - 15 years old and have not pass the classroom portion will not be eligible to enroll in the driving portion. The classroom portion of Behind the Wheel is a require pre-requisite for signing up for the program's driving portion. Sign ups will be accepted until the session is full. Students can sign up for Behind the Wheel starting on Wednesday, April 4 at 7:30AM in the commons. This driving portion of the program is available to students going into 10th - 12th grades during the 2018 summer school session. West Fargo Public Schools will be offering a summer session of Behind the Wheel.
